‘To Laugh, or not to Laugh’? That is the question?
If Shakespeare was alive today we reckon he would probably be a stand up comedian. There is no finer art, or better time spent wobbling around on this planet, than having the ability to make people around you laugh and hence, elevate the mood of your fellow human beings.
Opening brand new venue at Hilton Dubai, Jumeirah, The Laughter Factory is expanding it’s empire, in a quest to eliminate boredom from our lives.
Making sure this happens, Geordie funnyman, John Fothergill will provide non-stop laughter, from the minute he gets on stage, until he gets off.
“Everything he says is funny….he looks like he was born onstage, under a follow spot, with a mic in his hand says ‘THE GUARDIAN’ about
“A top comedy turn and a right funny bloke, say ‘THE SUN’. (It’s good to see them get something right).
Making his debut in the desert, Lateef Lovejoy is one of the most distinctive acts on both the black and international comedy circuits and has headlined some of the best clubs around the world.
Also debuting in the UAE is Ria Lina, her Filipino heritage gives us a hilarious insight into living in the UK as an Asian woman and smashes the stereotypes apart.

“A top comedy turn and a right funny bloke…………THE SUN
One of the best things about watching live comedy is seeing a comedian finally find their comic voice. Some comics never find it, but when one does, there’s no mistaking it. Suddenly, that ordinary bloke behind the mic becomes a cartoon version of himself. Everything he says is funny, and anything that happens to him is more material for his act. It’s partly about finding out who you really are, and how the punters really see you, but the main part remains a mystery. Yet whatever that mystery consists of, John Fothergill has just found it. He’s always been a solid comic, but now he looks like he was born on stage, under a followspot, with a mic in his hand.
He started out in showbiz in a band called One Hand One Heart, managed by ChasChandler of Slade,
Animals and JimiHendrix fame. They were signed by Epic, then Sony, and after they were dropped, he went to work on a gas rig. It’s my guess that this cocktail of toil and rock’n’roll is what made him a comic. See for yourself.
